I have been gone for a while.  Taxes and other paper work kept me busy - but now I am back. Anyone else participating in the Fat Quarter Shop Snapshot quiltalong?  When I saw the quilt I just had to make it- I found a fat eighth of Daysail fabric on Etsy in November so I was ready for the first pattern in January.

I just finished block #2 the sewing machine and here it is:

This is really a fun quilt along - I am really trying to keep up with the group so that I don't have another UFO on my hands at the end of the year.  I hope you all are having as much fun as I am.  See you all soon.

Farmer's Wife Blocks.

EDIT:
I just signed up for a giveaway at Karen's blog at http://chezstitches.blogspot.com
to use modern methods to construct your Farmers Wife quilt blocks.  I am really excited to try her methods.  When I first purchased the book - I looked at the blocks and they looked rather simple then I saw that all the blocks are template based.

Right now Karen is having a giveaway - you can win some free classes - just check out the link above and follow the directions.

Dear me....my brain is not working correctly this evening - I posted the classes were about Dear Jane but I meant Farmers Wife....I made the correction - I hope I didn't confuse anyone.

EDIT:  The pattern is called Scenic Lodi Valleys by Creek Side Stitches.
Finished this quilt, Delectable Mountains, that I started in 2013 - just put the last stitch in the binding.  I am keeping this one - it will be nice to snuggle under this winter.
I played with the quilting on my Handiquilter Avante - if you look closely, I put random quilting designs all over the quilt.  Its nice to have one finished.

I just found a picture of the quilt using one of my quilt blocks for the Karen Nyberg Quilt display in Houston during the last quilt festival.  Here is a pic of my block:

And here is a pic of the quilt:

There it is fifth row down - third column.  According to http://cindy-campbell.com/index.php?s=astronaut
(from her blog) there were a total of 28 quilts (that is a lot of blocks).  I don't know what they will do with the quilts after the display but it was nice to be included.  If you want to find your block - check cindy-Campbell's blog - she has pics of all 28 quilts.

I am new to this blogging thing - I hope to learn as I go along.  I am making progress on my Quilty Fun row blocks.    I have rows 1 - 5 completed.  Here is a preview:

I know I forgot to show my flying geese row - (I'm not a photographer in any sense of the word).

I am off to work on row 6....

Last project of 2014 - from American Patchwork and Quilting Jan/Feb 2015 issue

First Project of 2014 - Tula Pink pattern - Butterfly Quilt.

My first post.

My first post.  My name is Teresa but my blog name is otisquilts.

My husband and I have been married 28 years and have two children and 3 grandchildren.  We enjoy our country life with our 3 French Bulldogs:  Shorty, Clyde and Dozer.

I started quilting around 5 years ago and I am completely self-taught.   I have made dozens of quilts along the way and several handbags too.  I am addicted to fabric (especially pre-cuts) as you will see when I post pics of my quilts.

My first quilt project for 2015 is from Lori Holt's book, "Quilty Fun".  I have been dying to make the sampler quilt shown on the book cover.   I am using a combination of Riley Blake fabric and my stash for the quilt.  I will post pictures as I progress.

I hope you all enjoy the journey with me.
